*Title: Basketball My Way
*Author: Nancy Lieberman

* Summary: This book is about a girl named Nancy who teaches you to play basketball. This book has most of the rules of her time, all of the signals such as: travel, double dribble, and backcourt. This book was written in 1999 in Arkansas. She wrote the book because she was trying to teach kids how to play basketball using her past experiences of the game. I learned that basketball is very confusing.
*Comments: I really enjoyed this book because I enjoy sports.
*Recommendation: I would recommend this book because most middle school students play sports epically basketball.

Title: Unlikely Angel

Author: Ashley Smith

Summary: The purpose of this book is to tell what happened to a young girl Ashley Smith. From this story I learned that you should always listen to your elders when they tell you to do something, because they will always know what is happening in the world, from watching the 6 o’ clock news. I also learned that I should not go outside alone at night, because the same thing could happen to me.

I recommend this book, because it will teach people to listen to the TV, and be on the watch out for someone who are on the loose, that will hurt you in anyway. You should always be cautious of things that come across the TV.

The Diary of a Young Girl
By Anne Frank

This book is about a girl, named Anne Frank; she is a Jewish girl that is going through World War 2. As you read this book, you are reading the diary of a young girl who has gone into hiding from June 1942 to August 1944 and is keeping a journal of what goes on, through her perspective. Throughout this book she keeps you posted on the war, the quarrels, and her feelings about the way she is changing over the coarse of 2 years. What she went through would be like, kind of, someone erasing their identity from the earth and still existing. Yes I would recommend this book because it shows you another side to the war, it teaches you about history, and makes you feel like you are there.

Dale Earnhardt

Paul Mantell

In this story it talks about how dales dad how he joined racing. When Dale was born Ralph Earnhardt promised that Dale would not skip school and join racing permanently. Dale’s dad end up dieing and dale quiets school and racing any way. Dale then has Dale Earnhardt Jr. Then a couple years later when Dale jr. was old enough to drive in NASCAR. His first race ever was the Daytona 500. On the last lap dale Sr. was block some cars so his son could have a shot at the win his car lost control and hit the wall head on at 180 mph.

The element I thought was most important was about how the Dale family came to be.

I would recommend this book to older kids because I think they would get what’s happening in the story.

Title: Chicken Soup For The Preteens Soul 2
Author: Jack Canfield

This book is full of real life stories. Some stories made me ball my eyes out and some stories made me laugh out loud. With 12 emotional sections full of inspiring stories, I was taught many lessons. These sections vary from friends, crushes, dreams, and family to death, changes, wisdom and attitude, choices, tough stuff, and of course life.
In all of these stories my favorite one was “Who’s Room Is It Anyway.” I liked this one because it taught me a lesson that you have to put up with those little siblings even though they may be VERY annoying. It was about a teenage girl who had a little sister who everyday when went to school, she would come home just to find that her three year old sister had destroyed her room. I liked this story because I also have a younger sister that shares a room with me. I could relate because she too, destroys our room and doesn’t ever bother to pick anything up. Then I think though… what would I do without her? I realize I can put up with the annoyingness and the messes she leave for me, but I still love her quite dearly, just as the girl in the book did
This was the story that related to me the best but there are others. This is just me though! There are hundreds of others that may relate to things I your life. So I recommend that you read it too and see what story fits you best.
